Clinical Anatomist | Scientist | Research Consultant

Dear readers, I am Dr. Quiñones-Rodriguez, a clinical anatomist by training who works at the intersection of biomedical sciences and clinical anatomy. I am an Assistant Professor of Anatomical Sciences at Sam Houston State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Throughout my professional career, I received didactic training in higher education pedagogy and strategies for developing effective communication with students. These experiences and extensive scientific training have been fundamental in understanding the dynamic role of science and leadership in decision-making and evidence-based medicine.
My research expertise lies in the human cadaveric dissection, analysis of anatomical variants, and investigation of physiological functions. I aim to enhance the broader knowledge base, potentially leading to significant discoveries in human development and evolutionary biology. By collaborating with physicians from various disciplines, I strive to improve awareness of anatomical variations, ultimately contributing to better surgical approaches and outcomes.

In light of my steadfast dedication to research and anatomical sciences, I was honored to receive the Excellence in Research award at SHSU COM. Furthermore, I was honored to receive recognition from the American Association of Anatomy for successfully completing the esteemed Anatomy Scholars Program.

Lastly, I am a dedicated science advocate, actively involved in several outreach initiatives to communicate and promote science and research. As a first-generation scientist, I frequently use my life and professional experiences to inspire and impact underrepresented minorities in STEM, demonstrating the importance of science advocacy and cultural awareness.
